full

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to make strawberry jam and strawberry rhubarb jam. I'm quite excited about it.....................
I'm surprised the strawberry fields haven't drowned or the berries been beaten to smithereens by the blasted rain. The only day that hasn't been rainy in I don't know how long was Wednesday. What the heck is going on with the weather??It's keeping the pool full..................

look what I found

On my camera!!!! Actually, L showed me.....I like this setting. It's very fun.

I can "stitch" together 2 or 3 pictures. M & E before haircuts. And the bottom picture after haircuts. I never notice the clutter in the background while I'm taking a picture, but after, it all sticks out like it's glowing!!
I said I like this setting.........I think I love this setting!!!

too much

E had the camera one evening and took about 350 pictures of the floor the windows, his toys and way too many pictures of the dogs rear-ends!! I deleted 349 but kept this one. I do NOT allow my picture to be taken normally, however, E charmed us and L is just trying not to crack up. It's quite funny.

We picked up M from camp on Friday. He didn't feel well. I think just over-tired. He went to bed early and woke up feeling all better. L finished her second weekend of working and is enjoying herself. One of her good friends works with her so that makes things more fun.

We had a marathon shopping day today. We dragged Nana along. She doesn't do the mall, but did. She was a good sport and was probably glad to be dropped off at home!! We'll all sleep well tonight............

more entertainment

Excuse me, are you hiring???
Just kidding, this is one of the dress-up pictures. L dressed up as a "man" in some and E dressed up as a girl in some. I guess that is L's interpretation of a man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who do you think this is?? I wasn't sure until I saw the next one.....................E always has to have a ninja move in there!!

While Mom's Away

While Mom's Away the kids will play.......................dress-up!!L took pictures of E and E took pictures of L!
We've got pirates. ARGGH Maties!!And cave people. I guess E didn't realize that cave men might not have had a lot of clothing!!Do you think a saber-toothed tiger would want to mess with her??L's a good sport with E. They had quite a few more pictures I'll share later.

Did everyone stay up until midnight to make sure the Celtics tromped the Lakers??
I didn't dare go to bed. I didn't want something bad to happen, and you know, by me staying up, all ended very well!!
And I'm going to say it again.................
HELLO CELTICS!!!!!!

last day

E's last day of preschool was yesterday. There is always a carnival which is so much fun. They have games.
And rides.
Performances. I couldn't fit all the kids in the picture. There's a bunch on the other side. E is the second one in from the right.
They're standing on a bit of a slope, but E is really that much taller!! The boy in yellow is almost six.And certificates of completion. Preschool diploma!?!?
Both L & M skipped school (which they've never done before!!) to go. They both ran games.
For supper, we had pizza then brownies with vanilla icecream and chocolate sauce. E was pretty impressed to have such "lucky day".

trout

A father of one of the boys in E's class works for the fish and wildlife department for the state. We have a local fish hatchery and they were going to release some trout so he asked if the kids from school would like to participate. First we went to the hatchery. And saw tiny little fish. Then out to another spot to see other fish. We got to see different ages and sizes.Until we got to the biggest one. I don't know how old this one is. But they keep some big ones for educational purposes.
We then went to a local lake and the kids got to release fish. They could either tip their pails into the water or catch the fish by hand and "toss" them into the water. Some of the kids who I thought would never in a million years want to touch a fish got right into it!! It was a rainy, dreary day but lots of fun.

I'm sure you can tell by the middle picture, that the boys outnumbered the girls and that E is the tallest in the group!!

Annie

Along with running track this spring M was in the school play. He had three parts. One was with all the cast members, in the "NYC" scene. One was Bert Healey, a radio announcer. And the other was President Roosevelt. They did 7 performances over 3 days. They all did a great job. He was very tired. After the last performance the kids all have to break down the sets and clean, clean, clean. It usually takes 2-3 hours; but, M made invitationals in the hurdles for track. So he had to leave immediately after the last show to make it to practice so he could attend the meet. Making a practice before the meet was a requirement. He made it, he practiced and today he's off to the meet. I don't know why so many things are always crammed into the end of the year. Did I say that already??

winding down & winding up

L had her final track meet saturday. I couldn't go, bummer. It was an all day event with all the schools in our conference. She pole vaulted and cleared 5'. She ran the mile and made a new personal best time. She ran the 800 and I can't remember her time on that and she ran the 4 x 400 relay. Most kids did 2 events. She was all full of energy for the day then slept 12 hours that night. M has one more meet because he qualified for invitationals in the hurdles.
Tonight is the first performance of the middle school play. They are doing "Annie" and M has two parts. Bert Healey (a radio announcer) and President Roosevelt. They do 7 performances. The middle school students who aren't in the play come to see it during the day tomorrow. I think M is nervous about that part. There sure is a lot of stuff crammed into the last weeks of school........
When we were at the ocean last week, the "Cat" came in to town. First trip to Portland for the season.
We went on the Cat to Nova Scotia las summer. E got sea sick and is "never going to Nova Scotia again!!"
